The smile of an infant that creases its face,
In response to his mother’s warm embrace,
Even though he is young, it is certainly the case,
That he is discovering love’s blessing, love’s way
When that boy is but a tiny young person,
And he does not know how much the world can hurt him,
His father does provide for him sure protection,
So his son may feel love’s blessing, love’s way
And as that child slowly gets older,
He’ll find friends that will make him bolder,
Through their kindness and care they will draw ever closer,
And thus help him feel love’s blessing, love’s way
At some point boy will meet girl,
And he will feel on top of the world,
Because she is more precious than ANY pearl
For she has truly shown him love’s blessing, love’s way
When they walk together, when they talk together,
When their eyes meet or they simply laugh together,
They truly think life could be no better,
But the boy knows this is not love’s way
For this boy has become a true man,
And now, only now, does he understand,
That love’s blessing should be given
All through life, instead of taken
So this man, who was once a boy,
Takes the girl’s hand and offers her joy
He offers her everything that she’s been missing,
He offers her the very highest form of love’s blessing
And as they were living out their days in utter joy and peace,
They received a small bundle of life that made their joy increase,
And as that little girl grew, her parents vowed to one another,
That they would teach her to share love’s blessing, love’s way with still more others
